Join GOLD SALON TOKYO

We are recruiting hair stylists and assistants across five positions based on experience and technical level. We are looking for people who are eager to learn new techniques and ideas, enjoy communicating with clients, and are passionate about helping people look and feel beautiful.

POSITIONS

01 Entry Stylist

This is a development position for stylists who are currently working in the industry and would like to further improve their technical and English communication skills before making their stylist debut at GOLD SALON TOKYO.

During a 3–6 month training period, you will develop the technical skills and English client communication required through practical salon experience.

English Level Basic Conversation Able to communicate in basic conversational English.

Salary Guide ¥300,000 – ¥330,000 Per month / Base salary

02 Stylist

This position is for stylists or colourists with at least three years of professional experience.

Training will be provided according to your level in areas where you have less experience, including cutting and colouring. You will also receive guidance on a variety of international and Japanese products and techniques.

At least 3 years of professional experience as a stylist or colourist.
Willingness to actively learn new techniques and ideas.
Friendly, professional and attentive communication skills.
Willingness to develop skills in areas where further training is required.
Available to work 3–5 days per week.

English Level Intermediate Able to provide basic client service in English.

Salary Guide ¥350,000 – ¥550,000 Per month / Base salary + incentives

03 Senior Stylist

This position is for stylists with at least seven years of professional experience as a stylist.

Assistant and training periods are not included in the required seven years of professional experience.

At least 7 years of professional experience as a stylist.
Strong cutting and colouring skills.
Proven experience building a client base and increasing repeat and requested appointments through high-quality services.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
Available to work 3–5 days per week.
Able to conduct consultations and provide client service smoothly in English.

English Level Intermediate – Fluent

Salary Guide ¥400,000 – ¥800,000 Per month / Base salary + incentives

04 Top Stylist / Manager Level

This is a manager-level position for highly experienced stylists with advanced technical skills, a strong professional track record, and the ability to take a leadership role within the team.

Fluent English communication skills.
At least 15 years of professional experience as a stylist.
At least 3 years of professional hairstyling experience overseas.
Advanced skills in both cutting and colouring.
Proven experience building a stable client base and strong sales performance.
Ability to consistently provide a high standard of service.
Positive attitude toward team development, technical training and mentoring junior team members.

English Level Fluent

Salary Guide ¥480,000 – ¥1,000,000 Per month / Base salary + incentives

05 Assistant Recruitment

This is a development position for people who want to gain practical salon experience while building foundational technical skills and English client communication. Applicants with salon or head spa experience are welcome, including those returning after a career break who would like to refresh their skills before progressing toward a stylist role.

Experience working at a hair salon or head spa in Japan or overseas.
Basic salon skills, including shampooing.

English Level Basic Conversation Able to communicate in basic conversational English.

Salary Guide ¥200,000 – ¥300,000 Per month

Benefits

Transportation allowance up to ¥20,000 per month.
Salary review and increases.

Common Requirements

Must hold a valid Japanese cosmetology / hairdresser licence.
Professional hairstyling experience overseas or experience working with Western / international hair types.
Passionate about the beauty industry and helping clients look and feel their best.
Motivated to improve and able to take initiative independently.

Working Hours & Salary

Working days and schedules can be discussed depending on the position.
Both part-time and full-time working arrangements can be discussed.
Working simultaneously at another hair salon is not permitted.
The salary ranges shown above are guidelines based on working five days per week.
Compensation for three or four working days per week will vary according to the agreed working schedule.

Technical Assessment

All applicants will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.

Applicants will be asked to arrange their own model and perform cutting and colouring services according to instructions provided by the Salon Director.

Based on the finished result, we will assess your technical level and determine the most appropriate position.
